Implementation of the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Assessment Tool (B.A.T.) in Ethiopia 

We are pleased to announce the launch of the B.A.T. Project for Ethiopia. The project received formal approval from the country’s tax authorities in December and commenced with a hybrid training on BEPS in February 2025. 

For the first time, this B.A.T. project will utilize the digitalized B.A.T. questionnaire, hosted on this dedicated website. The assessment will be conducted by IBFD and funded by the Dutch government.

During discussions with key stakeholders, it was agreed that the Ethiopia B.A.T. project would also serve as an excellent opportunity to train new B.A.T. Assessors. By participating alongside experienced Senior Assessors, new assessors will gain valuable insights into the BEPS Assessment process. 

Key Dates:
• Pre-BEPS Course (Online and Face-to-Face Phases): February and March 2025
• Kick-Off / Preparation: Starting March 2025
• In-Country Visit of Senior Assessors: June 2025
